Soul-searching!

Have you ever felt so empty that your heart feels like a void that nothing can fill? Have you ever felt so alone that none of the parties or get-togethers you go to seem to matter? Have you ever felt so lost that all the compass in the world could never help you even if they tried? Have you ever asked yourself questions even Stephen Hawking could not put into equation?

Trust me, you are not alone. You are not the only one lost in this chaotic world; all struggle to find something or someone we can call home. Though that is common, that is not always the case.

You can have a great family: a supportive dad who always makes sure you are provided with the best the world can offer; a loving mom who you can lean on in times of need and melancholy; a sibling who is also your best friend that you can always confide with — but still, you can feel lost and empty.

You can have friends that are willing to stay with you in times of triumph and suffering. You can have a lover you feel is your soul mate and everything. But sometimes, not even all these can fill the hunger in your soul.

This is why I wrote this. I believe that no matter how much stress and pressure you’re under; it may be a tart-tongued boss that’s been pushing you so hard or a stack of homework and projects that’s been keeping you up at night — you deserve to take a break to think things through and evaluate your life. You deserve to find the things that make the fire within you grow stronger. You deserve to be able to find the “you” you’ve lost in this world by trying to fit in. You deserve to let your soul indulge in things it’s been craving for.

You have a choice. You can let your soul starve for the rest of your life and be unhappy and incomplete or you can make a step to go make a difference. Find films that may not be trending but is food for the soul. Go to trips that let you meditate and encourage self-realizations. Go off-the-grid and explore nature. Find things that allows you to connect to the “inner you” and the universe.

The world has transformed into a shrinking prison cell equipped to push you into molds that may never be the ones right for you. You have to listen to what your heart and soul tells you. Don’t let what this world has become to contaminate your pure, free soul.

You are the only one who can make the choice. You are the only one that can feed your soul. You are the only one who can make your life worth the while.
