With an oncoming recession, conflicts, a debt crisis, inflation, energy and food shortages, and a broken supply chain, most people prioritize preserving their hard-earned wealth.
Deciding where and how to invest has become a need and reality in our beauty regimen.
I've been in the hair and beauty business for over 20 years and have seen those beauty customers invest in the service (whether it's a nice color or a haircut) but then fail to engage in the routine that would allow them to maintain and prolong the lifetime of their hair investment.
We ignore the fact that these behaviors have dramatic implications for our hair and negate the results of the original investment, whether we pick up a supermarket shampoo or forgo the much-needed maintenance conditioning treatment out of convenience or lack of time.
Why, in a world where we purchase the right things for our cashmere sweaters to keep their quality and smoothness, don't we do the same for our hair?
Consider grocery items, which are often white-labeled; they are certainly less expensive, but the quality of active substances in these products is low. To nourish the hair, utilize products that are not only tailored to your hair type but are also high in active substances. The more active components in your shampoo, the more pricey the product. It's important to remember to treat your hair with the same care and attention as you would your skin. Finally, you need a solution that repairs the hair from the inside out rather than just covering the hair shaft. You will also note that while utilizing a superior-quality product, you will not need to use as much of the product and that your hair will improve dramatically over time.
I sometimes think of supermarket items as hair band-aids; they hide the scar but do nothing to help it fade. Among the greatest active ingredients on the market, I like macadamia, aloe Vera, and pro-vitamin B-5. They improve the internal structure of the hair by restoring strength, flexibility, and shine, all of which are necessary for healthy hair. Formaldehyde, methylene, and sodium chloride are hair enemies that should be avoided at all costs.
