Almost every state in India has their own way of draping and styling a saree. The standard drapes are styled and modeled differently depending on the state you are in and the type of saree you are about to wear. Let’s look at how the different states in India wear the nine yards of sheer beauty:

1. Tamil Nadu’s Kanjeevaram

Starting from the south, we have the famous Kanjeevaram from Tamil Nadu. We have all grown up watching Rekha flaunt her magnificent collection of kanjeevaram sarees at every opportunity she gets. 2. Maharashtra’s Nauvari Saree

The popular tie and dye saree from Gujarat and Rajasthan is known as the Bandhani. These sarees come in varying patterns and colours and are believed to bring good future and fortune for the bride. The method to produce a Bandhani lehenga saree is very intricate as the fabric is dyed by hand. You need to keep them with utmost care as it is an incredibly delicate material.

4. West Bengal’s Tant Saree

You can easily distinguish a Tant saree from all the other kinds of saree for women in India. This elegant piece of clothing from Bengal is known for its red and white colour combination. It is a staple in the wardrobe of every Bengal woman. This saree is extremely wearable in the humid weather of Bengal as it is made of very breathable fabric. We have all seen in movies and TV shows how the Bengali ladies flaunt their gorgeous Tant sarees.

5. Odisha’s Bomkai Saree

Odisha’s Bomkai designer sarees are among the most beautiful ethnic wear all across the country. These beauties are known for their motifs and patterns. In the modern times, we see a lot of variations in them but that does not make them lose their elegance in any way. Their patterns have their roots deep into the culture of Odisha. These sarees, when used in daily wear, are woven over cotton. The silk ones are reserved for festivities as they are very rich and elegant. You will find grand mythological motifs on these as they carry inspiration from the history.

6. Madhya Pradesh’s Chanderi Saree

The Chanderi saree from Madhya Pradesh is an exquisite piece that will steal your heart away. To make the fabric very light, zari and silk are woven along with cotton. The saree feels luxurious and is perfect for celebrations and festivities. Its pristine shine never fades away. This is one such handloom weave which comes in a scrumptious texture.

7. Kerala’s Kasavu Saree

Kerala has given us the refined and radiant Indian Kasavu saree which looks amazing. Originally, it was a blouse and dhoti along with a stole that was draped over them. Now, it has got a modern touch and are worn in many different styles. This white saree with golden borders look stunning and sometimes, even real gold is used for the thread work.
