Captain Red Beard's Crew

                                                      Chapter 1

(Wrote this when I was 9. There are more chapters, but they're on paper and I have to type the up. Might make this into a small series).

Wind blows across the almighty ocean, rocking a huge pirate ship back and forth.

The ship’s name is Scalewag. The crew is on an expedition to find new land.Captain Red Beard was ordered by the king to go on this expedition. Most of the crew didn’t want to come because they doubted there was any new land. Red Beard threatened anyone one from his crew who didn’t want to come with a knife, so everybody came. Right now they are battling a storm.

“Coming clear in a mile captain!”

“Excellent!” said red Beard. “ Keep going straight!”. The captain said again.

It was time for them to go to sleep, except for the spotter who is awake the whole night. Crew members take turns being the spotter.

“Finally, some time to myself” the captain said as he sat down in his wooden bed. Then he starts to think about the current situation.“Some peace and quiet.” He sighed deeply. “We have to find new land soon, in 2 weeks and we’ve been searching for months. If we don’t find land we will all be hung.”

The captain was starting to fall asleep, but then the spotter yelled: “Land Ho!”

“That’s impossible” murmured Red Beard. “There was no land for at least a mile and it hasn’t even been an hour. I would might as well see this ‘new land’ just to make sure.” When Red Beard came out everybody was already staring at the beautiful island.

“It’s magnificent captain, we should celebrate” said the spotter who this time was Jerry.

The island was full of luscious green grass and beautiful, colorful flowers all around. It was full of mountains and many giant palm trees. The island looked inhabited so they went towards it. “Full steam ahead!”. This time the captain emphasised his voice. The ship is going faster than ever. Then they began to see something in the water. Then out of nowhere a giant 300 foot whale covered in scars and had razor sharp teeth came charging at them.

“What’s wrong, why is the whale charging at us? “ asked Percy.

Jerry, the smartest, said, “this seems to be irs home. It must be protecting it.”
